CSIRO

CSIRO, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, is Australia's national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research agencies in the world.

DSTO

The Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) is the Australian government's lead agency charged with applying science and technology to protect and defend Australia and its national interests. DSTO delivers expert, impartial advice and innovative solutions for Defence and other elements of national security.

ITKE

The Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE) at the University of Stuttgart focuses its activity on the development of structures. ITKE’s goal is to push the boundaries of engineering design and material science towards new applications in the field of architecture.

DeltaTech

For many years extensive investigation has gone into the contact force between pantograph and catenary in railway engineering. Conventional electrical load cells and strain gauges have been used in the past, which presents a variety of electrical insulation issues when working with high voltage parts. This study evaluates the use of a fiber optic based load cell sensor using draw tower gratings. Because FBG measurement technology is electrically inert, this removes the need to provide special insulation requirements.

B-Phot

The Brussels Photonics Team  (B-Phot) is a research group within the Faculty of Engineering of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). VUB-B-Phot is internationally recognized for its basic, strategic, and applied research in the field of "micro-optics" and “micro-photonics”.
